It would be only be right that my first review be a restaurant with a recurring feature in the top 10 list of bouji London restaurants.
After being seated we were brought over a bottle of Laurent Perrier champagne and kindly reminded that we had 1.5 hours of unlimited champagne from when the bottle was opened. They definitely weren’t lying as champagne was kept flowing for that whole period (we noted the time).
Different to its regular dinner menu the brunch menu did have actual brunch options on it. I was tempted by the crab chilli and lime omelette but as it was nearer 5pm by the time we ordered 2 of us went with the shared roast platter and my other friend had the steak egg and chips – not brunch food but hey we were starving.
The roast was pretty standard to be honest. The meat was tender and fell off the bone. The food wasn’t exceptionally hot and before we could finish it was cold. I should have known better than to order the mac & cheese which was more pasta in cheese sauce but it wasn’t too bad. We were pretty stuffed after the mains and shared 2 apple crumbles between us which were divine.
The vibe inside was typical STK. The music was so loud that we often struggled to hear each other speak across the table – bare in mind there were only 3 of us. However, it was also typical STK in that every one was there to have a good time. In the corner you’d find couples cuddling and girls dancing. We were welcome to stay by the bar after we’d eaten but left after taking numerous pics.
Tickets for the brunch were £35pp which included the table and unlimited champs. Dinner came to £50pp when the bill was split in 3 so in all the brunch came to £85pp.
So if you need a reason to dress up at 4pm on a Sunday, STK’s has three more Champagne Brunch’s happening this year on 30th October, 20th November and 11th December. Tickets are available here @ £35pp and tables coming in 2, 4, 6 or 8.
